Yesterday, I checked my email and found an invitation to attend training for a work-from-home job.

I’m still not entirely sure what to think about this opportunity, but I was happy to receive it. The working hours would be from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., which is certainly a concern, although not an insurmountable one. For now, having a job matters more than anything else. Being without an income has put me under considerable financial pressure.

A Job to Get Through This Difficult Time

The training period lasts ten days. If I pass and get hired, the salary will apparently be around $300 a month. The job requires eight hours a day, with one day off per week. It’s not a particularly well-paid job, nor is it something I would consider a great opportunity. Still, it would help me get through my current situation.

I’ve done some calculations to compare it with working farther away from home, and the difference is roughly equivalent to earning $500 a month at a job that requires me to live away from my family. Honestly, I would like to go farther and pursue better opportunities, but I have children, and I can’t leave my wife to handle everything on her own.

Of course, finding a better-paying job closer to home would be ideal. Unfortunately, opportunities like that are not easy to come by. For now, this job might be a practical way to regain some financial stability while I figure out my next steps.

Balancing Work and Family

I’ve talked to my wife about the job. She isn’t particularly supportive of the idea of working nights, but she hasn’t opposed it either. Perhaps, given our current circumstances, this is simply something we need to do.

It’s not an ideal arrangement. Working from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. could affect my daily routine and the time I spend with my family. But sometimes, the choices available to us are not the ones we would have chosen under better circumstances.

I also need to get back up to speed with my skills as quickly as possible. Right now, it feels as though I have very little to fall back on apart from my web development skills. Even those don’t give me much confidence about securing a stable income in the future.

I already have a plan for how I want my career to develop and where I want it to lead. But if I’m being honest, I don’t dare put all my hopes into that plan. Having a direction is one thing; knowing whether it will actually work out is another.

Building an Online Business for the Future

Alongside finding a job, I need to make time for my two web projects. My hope is that, one day, they will generate enough income to support me and ease the financial pressure on my family.

Until I can feel confident about the income they bring in, though, that future remains uncertain.

I’m also applying to the Claude Startup program, hoping to get some help from AI to develop my website. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard back yet. It’s a small possibility worth holding on to, but perhaps I won’t receive any support after all.

Even so, I want to keep working on my own projects. I don’t expect them to change my life overnight, but I hope that consistent effort will eventually give me more choices and a more stable future.

A New Affiliate Marketing Website

Today, my family is going back to my parents’ hometown with my eldest daughter. My parents live about 30 kilometers away, so it’s not too far—roughly a 45-minute drive.

Before we leave for the weekend, I need to make the most of today and get my new website set up. I’d really like to have it ready to launch before I take a break and head back to my hometown.

The idea I have in mind is an affiliate marketing website designed to help people find the best time to buy a product.

The homepage would be simple, with just a search bar. Users could search for a product sold on an e-commerce platform and see its current lowest price, a 30-day price history chart, and a recommendation on whether to buy now or wait for a better deal.

I want the website to make price research easier. Instead of spending weeks checking prices manually, people could use one place to understand whether a product is currently a good deal.

The Experience Behind the Idea

The idea came from a personal experience.

I wanted to buy a graphics card that cost around $200, but I wasn’t sure whether that was a good price. Instead of buying it immediately, I tracked the price for two or three weeks. Eventually, I managed to get it for around $151. For me, that was a real bargain.

That experience made me realize how useful price tracking could be. A product’s current price doesn’t tell the whole story. Knowing how its price has changed over the past month could help people decide whether to buy now or wait.

I believe there are plenty of people who would find this kind of information useful. If I can build a website that helps them make better purchasing decisions, I could also earn a small commission through affiliate programs.

It sounds like a promising idea, and I’d love to see it work.

Taking One Small Step at a Time

My goal is to get the website up and running within the next three or four weeks. There’s still a lot to do, and I don’t know how things will turn out. But I want to keep moving forward, even if progress is slow.

For now, I’ll focus on what I can do today: prepare for the job opportunity, make time for my family, and take another step toward building something of my own.

I’m still figuring things out at 33. I need a reliable income, I have responsibilities to my family, and I’m trying to build an online business that might eventually give me more freedom.

I can’t be certain that any of these plans will work. But perhaps I don’t need to be certain about the future to keep moving toward it.

I hope things will work out for the best.
